ReGen's current model is comprised of people who donate their time and talent to connect Canadians with the world. This is more challenging than it sounds, but it makes a big difference in that other than a few expenses, all of the donations can move directly to make a difference is our programs.

Regen Community Development Foundation was incorporated in Canada on March 12, 1997 as NATA Ministries with the belief that true and lasting change, whether economic, social, or spiritual comes only through understanding Christ's Truth, much hard work, and the building of strong interpersonal relationships. (Isa 32:15-16).

On June 14, 2001, NATA changed its name to ReGen Community Development Foundation and began as a ministry to rural families with the opportunity to reverse the cycle of chronic poverty and transform their future through land ownership and agro-forestry. ReGen's initial days were spent developing the 'Land for Life' project in Nicaragua, Central America through an innovative approach that empowered families to break free from the cycle of poverty. Through this partnership, families were helped with the process of financing the purchase of their own land in order to develop a sustainable agro-forestry farm.

ReGen ministries have moved forward guided by biblical convictions that underscore the importance of people, the value of strong nuclear families, hard work, God honoring stewardship and the work that od has accomplished for humanity in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

In 2007, ReGen turned its focus towards Africa and the challenges which that region poses for many of the poor and the church's ability to speak tangible in to many of the region's challenges.

The Vision of ReGen Community Development Foundation is to see Canadian Christians learning, serving and intentionally partnering to express the love of God and accelerate the fulfillment of the God’s reign among the less fortunate communities in the majority world.

ReGen Community Development Foundation’s Primary Focus is to enhance the witness of the church as it serves as a catalyst to empower proven leaders in their service to less fortunate communities in the majority world.
ReGen’s catalytic initiatives seek to embody the following Values.

• Respect – (valuing others) Respect begins by recognizing God as the giver of life and acknowledges that all people are created equal and therefore have value. Valuing“others” and their unique contribution to God’s global mosaic is a foundationalcharacteristic of our involvement with leaders of communities in the majority world.
• Relationship – (knowing others) A relationship acknowledges that all of us, as part of God’s creative mosaic, are involved in the journey of life. It speaks of the need for companionship along the way and the importance of offering life giving Christcentered companionship as we travel together toward a common goal. Working in relationship acknowledges that true disciples of Jesus are known by their love for one another and the priority of sharpening each other through mutual edification.
• Service – (serving others) Serving others speaks to the importance of meeting people’s needs undergirded by a passion for brining the Gospel to bear in life transforming ways through the power of the Holy Spirit. Accepting the model of Jesus who came “not to be served but to serve,” ReGen seeks to honor God by giving its best in the service of others.
• Collaborative – (working with others) Collaboration speaks to the importance of working in mutually beneficial ways to achieve what God has put in our hearts to do. It recognizes that there is much that we cannot accomplish individually andaccentuates the importance of learning from each other as we model kingdom values and reflect the character and work of God’s Spirit.
• Innovative – (creative new thinking) Innovation affirms the need to harness ideas derived out of creative collaborative initiatives developed as ReGen works together in relationship. Innovation affirms God’s gifts and calling that enables us as His creation to develop new ways of addressing particular concerns confronting ReGen partners.
• Integral – (integrative projects through people) Speaks to the idea of whole-life commitment and ReGen’s conviction that people think and act as integrated persons. Living integrally acknowledges the interdependent nature of life that what happens in one part of our lives has repercussions in other spheres life.
• Sustainable – (lasting initiatives) The need for sustainability underscores the importance of honest and clear assessments that paint a realistic idea of the task. These assessments would incorporate and provide standards and a framework foraccountability and integrity.
