Participants: Three from FACTEB, Four from Canada
We were encouraged with the most recent news of what God is doing at FACTEB in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Items for our interest and prayers include:
• Gratitude for positive attitude on the campus as Semester 1 draws to a close, with exam week Feb. 18-23 (Pray for both students and professors). Semester 2 begins March 1.
• Thanksgiving for the arrival of student scholarship funds via the Regen Community
• Continued progress on the renovation and building projects: Student duplexes, Sarah’s School, and library foundation
• Sarah’s school going well, in spite of many children suffering from seasonal coughs and colds
• Women’s school faithfully ministers to student spouses.
• Church Executive Committee meetings went relatively well
• Preparations are in progress to host the Alliance World Fellowship (Africa section) at Kinshasa (May 24-29, 2010)
• There was a celebration of the life and ministry of Papa Niati, pastor, teacher, education administrator and strong mentor/advocate for FACTEB since its inception in 1976. His loss is felt deeply.
• Trusting God for the safe arrival of the funds from First Alliance
• Kenzo and Lau’s immediate family are doing well (Happy 13th birthday, Tutu!). They have been without their vehicle for a month because of need for major repairs. Progress on their house construction is slow but sure.
• Jan R. plans to attend a Train-the-Trainer seminar in Rwanda July 18 – August 6, with a vision to explore its application at FACTEB.
