Kenzo's Father passes

It is with saddness that we communicate that Kenzo's father passed away February 1, 2012..
Please pray for the family at this difficult time, particularly as they are separated with Kenzo in Boma and Lau and the boys in Calgary and Ami in Korea.
ReGen Community Meeting

Last evening, the board of ReGen met to review progress as well as consider some program changes. The highlights of the meetings are as follow:
- We approved a new program called Vocational Training which is focused on providing training to create marketable skills which can generate earnings. The first initiative under this program is a project to provide seamstress training for women in Boma, DR Congo.
- We approved scholarship awards to 45 students at FACTEB, the Boma based seminary.
- Fundraising in 2011 is going well with the one are of concern being the African Leaders program which is doing well but below the lvels where we can pay out the scholarships in full.

African Leaders Calgary Fundraiser

Our annual fundraiser for the African Leaders program is happening Oct 22, 2011 at Ambrose University College. Dr. Mabiala Kenzo will be speaking on A New Africa. In addition, Lau Kenzo is planning to be there and Rene Holvast from FACTEB will be providing an update.
